The Department of Piano educates students to be well-rounded professional musicians with technical skill, knowledge of music, and musical sensibility and creativity through practical training, literature on the piano, analysis of music, counterpoint, and other music theory. Since 2011, the Department has provided lectures on arts management, music therapy, ballet music, jazz music, and practical music to give students a variety of chances to express their talent and academic experience. More than two thousand graduates, are active as elite performers in the fields of chamber music and piano, at home and abroad
Objective of Education
Major of piano has its objective of education as following in order to cultivate great musicians both with theories and practices.
- Help students to comprehend harmony and balance of music with theoretical backgrounds and refinement as an artist through musical literature, researches, composition analysis.
- Develop individual creativity and talents to express rich musical emotion.
- Equip students with various experiences through playing music in various concerts including piano duo concert, internal concert, external concert, night of concerto, solo concert, chamber music concert, accompanied concert with orchestra and night of modern music.
