Sookmyung Women's University has completed its 2026 spring-semester industry-linked Capstone Design course, jointly operated with Microsoft Korea, with a final presentation held on Friday, June 12.
Titled "Marketing Strategy," the course was led by Professors Mina Jeon and Dongil Jeong of the Division of Business Administration and drew 50 business majors.
Students used generative AI tools—including Microsoft Copilot and the latest Copilot+ PCs—to design marketing strategies aimed at boosting brand awareness and expanding the user base for Samsung Electronics laptops. During the semester, they also visited Microsoft Korea's headquarters to see firsthand how generative AI is reshaping the way people work and how marketing strategies are developed.
At the final presentation, teams shared their project results, and top teams were recognized for innovation and feasibility. Students who completed the semester-long course received official Microsoft certificates.

The course stands out as a hands-on, practice-oriented program in which Microsoft was involved at every stage—from setting the assignments to close mentoring and final evaluation. Sookmyung actively supported the Capstone Design course, which challenges students to solve real corporate problems creatively, through its University Innovation Support Project and University Job Plus Center initiatives.
Sookmyung and Microsoft Korea plan to continue their partnership to cultivate AI marketing experts who will lead future industries. Seohee Son, director of the Career Development Center (and head of the University Job Plus Center), said, "Through this project, students built the practical skills they will need in the AI era. We will expand industry-linked, hands-on education so our students can grow into talented professionals who are competitive on the global stage."
Seoyeon Choi, executive director and Samsung sales lead in Microsoft Korea's Consumer Business Group, said, "Students experienced the potential of AI firsthand—analyzing markets, uncovering new growth opportunities, and turning creative ideas into real strategies using Microsoft AI. As AI literacy becomes a core competency for future talent, we will continue to support students so they can discover greater possibilities and grow through AI."
